Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F if finishing in oven.
  2. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  3. Shape into golf ball-sized meatballs.
  4. Heat olive oil in skillet; brown meatballs on all sides.
  5. Add marinara sauce; simmer 10-15 minutes until cooked through.
  6. Split and toast hoagie rolls if desired.
  7. Place meatballs in rolls; spoon extra sauce; top with mozzarella.
  8. Bake 5-7 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
