Ingredients

  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese, for serving


Instructions

  1. Boil salted water and cook spaghetti until al dente.
  2. Heat olive oil in skillet, sauté garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add crushed tomatoes, season with salt and pepper, simmer 15 minutes.
  4. Stir in fresh basil during last few minutes.
  5. Drain pasta, reserve some water.
  6. Toss pasta with sauce, add reserved water as needed.
  7. Serve with Parmesan and extra basil.
